Land law is a complex mix of statutes, rules and cases.  To make sense of this area of law, a good understanding of the key cases is essential.  Fortunately, Nutcases: Land Law provides the reader with an excellent overview of the key cases, their principles and, where appropriate, a brief commentary which places the case into context.

Nutcases: Land Law is divided into ten chapters including key issues for both students and practitioners like restrictive covenants, leases, easements and different interest in lands.  These chapters cover the key areas of land and provide the reader with a basic understanding of the fundamental principles.

Each case follows the same approach by explaining the key principles and followed by the court's decision.  The authors also explain whether the decision is from the High Court, Court of Appeal or House of Lords.  This allows the reader to understand the decision's importance and decide whether it is likely to be overruled.  The commentary is also well-written and written in small segments to ensure the reader understands the basic building blocks of the case.

Nutcases: Land Law is well-written and explains the key cases in an accessible way.  The commentary is also engaging and encourages the reader to engage in further research or read the law report.  Whilst not a replacement for the law library or a cases and material book, it provides an excellent overview of the important land law cases.
