Landlord and Tenant Law in Context is an extremely readable and accessible account of landlord and tenant law. One of the text's unique features is its layout: by arranging the text to follow the lifetime of a landlord and tenant relationship, the reader can quickly find the relevant section. The author then sublimely combines the common law and statutory principles. This will, of course, save time which may be otherwise lost. For this, the author should be commended. Landlord and Tenant Law in Context is very well written and explains the key principles with considerable ease. In an area of law which is dominated by Latin phrases, Susan Bright ensures the reader is not bogged down in terminology. Instead, her analysis is engaging and encourages the reader to delve deeper into the subject matter. Uniquely, the author examines landlord and tenant law in its contractual background: this approach should be encouraged. In a complex but interesting area of law, practitioners and students both want an engaging, authoritative and accessible account of the law and its application. Landlord and Tenant Law in Context satisfies this criteria with considerable ease. At only £35 (which is considerably cheaper than Woodfall), the text provides excellent value for money and should be seriously considered by anyone interested in this area of law.
