Conveyancing is an incredibly practical subject which most students are oblivious to until they start the legal practice course.  By the time a few weeks have passed since the start of the property law and practice module a student can easily be swamped!

This new text, which is authored by the highly-respected Robert Abbey and Mark Richards, is a welcome addition to any student or newly qualified's library.  The text adopts a very logical and practical approach as it explains the relevant protocols and procedures in an accessible and user-friendly manner.

Each chapter is superbly structured as the relevant procedures are explained, including extremely helpful tips, followed by sample examination questions and answers.  This allows the student to test their understanding by attempting to answer the questions.  The text also includes a few precedent documents which are useful as a basis for drafting.

What has surprised me with this text is the level of detail provided in the commentary.  The authors manage to explain complicated issues such as VAT on commercial property transactions with minimal fuss.  This is both a refreshing and welcome attitude!

This is a well-written, accessible and extremely useful text.  I continue to consult this text on a regular basis as answers can be quickly obtained.  The price of the text also means that it should be a vital companion to anyone studying both residential and commercial property.
