Contract law is a difficult and complex area of law.  To successfully pass exams or practise in this area, an important understanding of contract law is fundamentally important.  Cheshire, Fifoot & Furmston's Law of Contract is one of the best texts on this area: it is authoritative, accessible and easy to understand.

The fifteenth edition of Cheshire, Fifoot & Furmston's Law of Contract, which now forms part of Oxford University Press' catalogue, has been thoroughly revised to include the latest case-law and legislative changes.  For example, the author considers (for the first time) the important House of Lords decision in Shogun Finance v Hudson [2004] 1 AC 919 and its implication on the law of mistake.  The changes to this new edition have been incorporated seamlessly and without upsetting the text's excellent balance.

The text is broken down into bite-size sections explaining the law in a thought-provoking and accessible way.  Because Cheshire, Fifoot & Furmston's Law of Contract has been regularly cited by a number of courts, the reader can be content that the material is authoritative.  The footnotes are also excellent and provide the reader with an excellent start for additional research.  Cheshire, Fifoot & Furmston's Law of Contract also has an Online Resource Centre.  At the time of writing, no updates have been published but there are links to the essential legal websites.  If the author continues in the fine tradition of sister publications, this will be an invaluable addition.

Cheshire, Fifoot & Furmston's Law of Contract is well written, easy to understand and authoritative.  It combines an excellent detailed legal analysis with fantastic academic commentary.  It is known as being one of the leading contract law texts and deservedly retains its title.  If the Online Resource Centre is updated regularly, it is difficult to see how similar texts can compete!
